Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
- Plan, execute, and monitor daily production activities for lead acid batteries (automotive as applicable)
- Ensure achievement of production targets in line with quality, cost, and delivery requirements
- Supervise and coordinate activities across assembly, charging/formation, finishing, and testing processes
- Monitor OEE, yield, cycle time, and process losses; initiate corrective actions
Process & Technical Control
- Control critical process parameters for assembly, and formation
- Analyze process deviations and implement root cause corrective actions (RCA)
- Support introduction of new products, process improvements, and capacity expansion
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, control plans, and work instructions
Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and customer requirements
- Coordinate with QA/QC for in-process and final inspections
- Minimize rejections, rework, and scrap through continuous improvement
- Support audits (ISO, IATF, customer, internal) and ensure closure of findings
Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
- Ensure compliance with EHS regulations related to lead handling, acid usage, effluent treatment, and waste disposal
- Promote safe work practices and conduct regular safety training and toolbox talks
- Ensure proper use of PPE and statutory compliance related to hazardous materials
Manpower & Team Management
- Guide, train, and motivate engineers, supervisors, and shop-floor operators
- Manpower planning, shift management, and skill development of production staff
- Evaluate performance and support competency improvement initiatives
Continuous Improvement & Cost Control
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, and 5S activities
- Reduce manufacturing costs through productivity improvement, material optimization, and energy conservation
- Support automation and digitalization initiatives in production
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports
- Maintain production, quality, breakdown, and safety records
- Analyze trends and present performance data to management
Key Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of lead acid battery manufacturing processes
- Understanding of chemical processes used in battery production
- Familiarity with formation charging systems and testing methods
- Knowledge of TPM, Lean, Six Sigma (preferred)
Behavioral & Managerial Skills
- Strong leadership and team-handling
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Decision-making ability under production pressure

•B.E / B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Automobile/Production
