Role Description: E-Motor and Transmission Test Lab Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Execute routine and non-routine testing of electric motors and gearboxes, including no-load, load, thermal, vibration, and endurance performance tests.
- Set up and operate motor test benches, including dynamometers, controllers, inverters, and data acquisition systems.
- Perform motor fixture spline setup and precise alignment with dynamometer.
- Support fixture setup for 2-in-1 (Motor + Inverter) and 3-in-1 (Motor + Inverter + Gearbox) configurations.
- Operate and handle AVL PUMA, EDACS, and related test automation systems.
- Work with CAN, Vector tools, and DBC files for signal monitoring and diagnostics.
- Monitor parameters such as speed, torque, voltage, current, power, temperature, and vibration during tests.
- Record test results, maintain detailed test logs, and prepare test reports.
- Ensure correct connections and configurations according to wiring diagrams and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Perform daily maintenance and basic troubleshooting of test equipment.
- Assist engineering teams during prototype validation, issue resolution, and failure/root cause analysis (RCA) activities.
- Follow all safety protocols, particularly when working with high-voltage systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the test area, ensuring 5S compliance
Qualification
Education: Diploma / B. Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Mechatronics.
Experience: 1–3 years in motor testing, EV testing, Gear box testing or similar lab/validation environment.
